Solid-floatation PVC boom is economic and general propose boom for encircling spilt oil and other floaters on water. It is especially suitable for permanent deployment and widely used at pond, lake, river, harbor and offshore petroleum platform.
The solid float rubber boom is an important device for preventing spilled oil on waters from diffusion and transfer. It is widely used for long-term deployment on waters of open seas, bays, harbors, wharfs, rivers, oil platform, etc. or for emergent use in oil spill accident.
STRUCTURE:
1. Floats and end connectors made of heat-resistant steel; heat-resistant flexible sections between floats
2. The skirt in water is made of PVC double-face coated fabric or rubber.
3. Three tension members: Top wire of heat-resistant steel, middle strap belts and bottom ballast chain.
Closed cell foam buoyancy chamber makes boom less prone to sinking.
The boom is easy to store and deploy, taking up minimal storage space due to its ability to fold back on itself (concertina).

Floatable pill-oil endless ropes pass rollers in the skimmer. The ropes on water absorb oil. Elastic rollers squeeze oil off the ropes into a sump when the ropes pass though the skimmer.
A skimmer cant continuously recover spilt oil in still water or in case the oil is very viscous because no oil flows to the skimmer. So the skimmer has to move to continue recovery operation.
